Dosecann has assembled a world-class team housed in a purpose-built, 52,000 sqft. GMP compliant facility that will be the hub for cannabis extraction, product innovation and formulation.

    Overview

    Dosecann is currently recruiting for a Lead Extraction Technician supporting the Manufacturing Department. This role will oversee the efficiency of the extraction department and ensure that from a supervisory capacity all end goals are achieved. The successful candidate will bring expertise in extraction processes and procedures, offer a strong background in people management within a manufacturing environment, and be comfortable with key stakeholder communication.  

    Responsibilities

    • Lead training in all aspects of extraction equipment and auxiliary equipment.
    • Oversee the operation and efficiency of the extraction department.
    • Supervise Extraction Technicians to ensure all company policies and procedures are strictly followed. 
    • Prepare dried cannabis for extraction; milling and decarboxylation oven.
    • Conduct routine equipment inspection to ensure operational integrity and that the receiving vessels are clean and free from residual plant matter.
    • Process extracted oil (purify and winterize) and prepare extract for formulation.
    • Be able to aid in further development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and continuous improvement projects.
    • Prevent cross-contamination and manufacturing fumes from being incorporated into the extracted substances.
    • Store supplies and equipment, dispose waste according to guidelines, and keep treatment, storerooms and working areas immaculate.
    • Evaluate and maintain calibration and inventory records of supplies, materials, and equipment, and prepare requisitions as needed.
    • Perform clerical work related to treatment activities such as word processing, record keeping, filing.
    • Other duties that the company may assign from time to time.

    Qualifications

    • Post-Secondary education in Chemistry or related or equivalent professional experience.
    • Familiarity with separations, isolations and fractionation.
    • People management and supervisory capacity shown through previous experience ideally in a manufacturing environment.
    • Good organizational skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical documents and procedures.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging manufacturing environment.

    What will set you apart

    • 2+ years of extraction or equivalent experience in a laboratory setting.
    • Hands-on experience with purification, separation, and crystallization of various compounds, preferably including cannabinoids. 
    • Exposure to extraction, refining, and distillation.
