  • About the Company

    Dosecann is a Canadian licensed dealer dedicated to developing Cannabis Solutions for the global cannabis industry. Dosecann has assembled a world-class team housed in a purpose-built, 52,000 sqft. GMP compliant facility that will be the hub for cannabis extraction, product innovation and formulation.


    Reporting directly to the Director of Product Innovation, the Product Developer will be responsible for participating in the cross-functional product development efforts of Dosecann.


    • Involvement with all stages of product/process development including concept co-creation, prototyping, generating new product specifications, and ensuring regulatory, labeling, and food safety requirements are met.
    • Conduct experiments using a customized designed approach to validate formulations and processes at the bench, and pilot scale, before entering production.
    • Record and analyze data generated throughout the development process.
    • Responsible for organizing and executing product development plans to meet launch targets.
    • Writing of SOPs for technology transfer from Product Innovation Team to Production Team.
    • Assisting in scale-up and pilot trials for products developed in-house, or under license, and make adjustments where required during production.
    • Assisting in the technical evaluation and assessment of new technologies, processes, and platforms of interest to Dosecann and Auxly.
    • Leverage expertise to suggest improvements to cost of goods, product design and manufacturing, sustainability, and ROI.
    • Maintain and continually develop knowledge related to ingredients, product formulation, and processing.
    • Interface with other key departments of Dosecann (i.e. QA, QC, Production, Analytical, Formulation, etc.) across all product categories.
    • Interface with ingredient suppliers and equipment vendors.
    • It is expected that travel will be a requirement, from time to time, in the fulfillment of these duties.


    • BSc. or M. Sc. degree in food science, or related discipline.
    • A minimum of 5 years industry experience including relevant laboratory and R&D / product development experience.
    • Proven ability to combine knowledge of chemistry and application of the scientific method to create new formulations.
    • Good theoretical and practical knowledge of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry including instrumental analysis.
    • In-depth knowledge of gas and liquid chromatography, spectroscopy and other analytical techniques employed in the pharmaceutical development.
    • Familiarity with modern computer assisted analytical instrumentation methods and with older techniques.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of GMP-s and GLP-s, as well as with pertinent FDA and Health Canada guidelines.
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency with presentations.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong leadership attributes; communication and influential attributes to working transversely across all departments.
    • Strong passion for innovation.

    • Graduate degree in Science, Culinology training and production/manufacturing experience would be considered additional assets.
